It may be that 29-year-old Fillmore resident Ivan Alejandro Valdez is unfamiliar with the notion of “dignified behavior” and simply didn’t know any better on the afternoon of March 6th when he sat in his car, parked in the lot at Sierra High School watching female students walk by, and performed what Ventura County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Sr. Deputy Dustin Heersche carefully referred to as “sexual gratification.”
When two female juveniles saw Valdez “touching his genitals,” they promptly left the area in their vehicle but were “followed by the same male subject” to a nearby Starbucks parking lot (perhaps hoping for a “happy finish” at his own hand?).
When the female juveniles informed their parents of what had transpired, the incident was promptly reported to VCSD’s Fillmore Investigations Bureau. The ensuing investigation and review of video surveillance records, coupled with “various investigative techniques” led to the identification of Valdez.
Valdez was spotted in downtown Fillmore and taken into custody by deputies wisely wearing protective latex gloves. He was then transported to Ventura County Jail, where he was booked on a charge of Lewd Conduct in Public.
