El Dorado County, CA – In a collaborative effort aimed at combating Organized Retail Crime (ORC), El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office Detectives, along with the Folsom Police Department’s Problem Oriented Policing (POP) Team and Target Corporation’s Loss Prevention Officers, conducted a Blitz Operation at the Target store in El Dorado Hills this week.
The operation, characterized by undercover surveillance both within and outside the store premises during regular business hours, focused on thwarting activities associated with ORC. Perpetrators of ORC theft not only target retailers within El Dorado County but also extend their criminal activities to neighboring communities like Folsom.
During the Blitz Operation, law enforcement personnel made contact with six individuals, resulting in four of them being issued misdemeanor criminal citations for various offenses, including petty theft, fraud, and trespassing.
Furthermore, as part of the operation, detectives successfully located a missing runaway juvenile within the premises. The juvenile was safely reunited with their family.
Given the nature of these cases, further investigation may lead to additional charges against the individuals involved.
