Authorities have announced the apprehension and booking of a suspect in connection with a homicide that occurred on Berry Street in San Francisco earlier this year. On January 14th, 2024, San Francisco Police officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 100 block of Berry Street.
Upon arrival, officers discovered an adult male victim with an apparent gunshot wound. Despite immediate medical attention and transportation to a local hospital, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased. Another adult male victim was found at the scene and treated by medics for non-life-threatening injuries.
The investigation into the incident was led by the San Francisco Police Department Homicide Detail. Through their diligent efforts, investigators identified 20-year-old Ranjeet Dodds as a suspect involved in the homicide. Subsequently, probable cause was established, leading to the issuance of an arrest warrant for Dodds.
On March 19, 2024, Dodds was located and taken into custody in San Jose, California. The successful arrest was made possible through collaborative efforts between the San Francisco Police Department and the San Jose Police Department. Dodds was subsequently booked into San Francisco County Jail #1 on the charge of murder (187(a)PC).
Despite the apprehension of the suspect, the investigation remains ongoing and active. Authorities urge anyone with information regarding the incident to come forward and assist in the investigation.
