Porterville Man Arrested on Child Pornography Charges and Firearm Violations

Summary:
On February 13, 2024, Porterville Police Detectives received a CyberTip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), informing them of a Porterville resident who uploaded a media file containing child pornography. Through the course of the investigation, detectives obtained evidence identifying 45-year-old, John Warner as the person downloading pornographic images and videos of children under the age of 18 at his residence in the 300 block of North Newcomb Street in Porterville. Based on this investigation, an arrest warrant for Warner was authored and signed by a Tulare County Superior Court Judge, for possession of child pornography as well as a search warrant for Warner’s residence.
On Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at approximately 7:15 A.M., Porterville Police Detectives, along with members of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC), responded to Warner’s residence. Warner was contacted and taken into custody without incident. Detectives served the search warrant at Warner’s residence and collected evidence related to the investigation. Additionally, detectives located three firearms unlawfully stored and accessible to a juvenile who resides at the residence.
Warner was later booked at the Tulare County South County Detention Facility, where he is being held in lieu of $135,000 bail.
