Corona Police Department Incident Report: March 25th – April 1st
“Good morning, Corona Residents!
We want to keep you informed about the recent activities of your police department. Here’s a summary of the incidents to which our officers responded from Monday, March 25th, 12:01 AM to Monday, April 1st, 11:59 PM:
Calls for Service: Our officers handled a total of 2,204 incidents, including 86 alarm calls, 50 area checks, 146 disturbance calls, 94 property checks, and 41 welfare checks.
Arrests: We apprehended 45 individuals involved in various offenses during this period.
Incident Highlights:
March 26th, 12:23 PM: CPD Dispatch received a call of a homeless male kicking a vehicle and causing damage. The witness was able to notify the vehicle owner and update dispatch with the suspect’s location. Officers arrested Jeffrey Jacobson (45 years of Los Angeles) for felony vandalism.
March 27th, 7:39 AM: A traffic officer located a stolen vehicle at Temescal Canyon and Weirick Road. A felony traffic stop was conducted, and the driver, Victor Bedolla (39 years of Fullerton) was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle. A records check showed Bedolla was on probation out of Orange County and was on post-release community supervision. Bedolla was also charged with violating the terms of his probation.
March 27th, 5:04 PM: In January, a victim reported several items, including two laptops, were stolen from their vehicle. Detectives conducted a follow up investigation and discovered the laptops were pawned by Joshua Charbonnet (40 years of Corona). A records check showed Charbonnet was on summary probation, formal probation, and had several convictions for theft related crimes. On March 27th, Detectives located Charbonnet and arrested him for possession of stolen property, possession of burglary tools, possession of a controlled substance, possession of 10 or more identification cards, grand theft, and probation violation.
March 29th, 2:51 AM: CPD dispatch received a call of an unknown male in the backyard of a residence in the 1000 block of W. Seventh Street. Officers arrived and found a male in the area who matched the description identified as Edwin Toledo (31 years of Fontana). A records check showed Toledo was on parole for an assault with a deadly weapon. Toledo was arrested for trespassing and violation of his parole.
April 1st, 10:10 PM: We responded to the 3000 block of Arbor Glen Court regarding a 16-year-old juvenile who was stabbed. Officers arrived and contacted the male who had a laceration to his hand. While on scene, it was reported an eighteen year old with a stab wound to his foot and a fifteen-year-old with a stab wound to his chest arrived at Kaiser Hospital in Riverside. While contacting witnesses at Kaiser, a 19 year old from Rancho Cucamonga, became extremely agitated and struck a police car one time with his forehead, which caused a large dent and shattered a passenger window. The 19 year old was arrested for felony vandalism. All stab victims were interviewed, and it was determined none of the injuries were life threatening. At one point, officers were at four different hospitals related to this call. The case has been turned over to Detectives for further investigation.
