Fresno Police Arrest Suspect in Connection with Fatal Shooting on West Dakota Avenue

Fresno police have announced the arrest of a primary suspect in connection with the recent murder of Raymond Martinez.

In a press release, police identified Gabriel Torres, 22, as the primary suspect in connection with a shooting on Friday, March 8, that killed Martinez and injured two others at an apartment complex on West Dakota Avenue.

Two of the victims were treated for gunshot wounds. Martinez, 25, passed away as a result of his injuries.

Detectives arrested Torres exactly one week later on Friday, April 12.

Torres was booked at the Fresno County jail on suspicion of murder, attempted murder, and enhancements for the use of a firearm in the commission of a crime resulting in death or serious bodily harm.

Authorities set Torres’ bail at $3.5 million.
