Two Arrested in Connection with Burglary in Shingletown

Two individuals have been arrested in connection with an alleged burglary in Shasta County.

Just after 1:30 AM on Thursday, deputies responded to a residence in the 6000 block of Wilson Hill Road in Shingletown to investigate a report of burglary, the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office said in a press release.

At the scene, deputies found broken windows and missing property.

The suspects were recorded on home surveillance video entering and leaving the property, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Meanwhile, during a routine patrol along State Route 44 and Tompata Trail, deputies spotted a suspicious vehicle and detained its occupants. Deputies reportedly discovered stolen property and methamphetamine inside the vehicle.

The occupants, 24-year-old Shaylene Miller-Cervantes of Shasta Lake and 36-year-old Michael Chandler of Palo Cedro, were arrested and booked into Shasta County Jail.

Miller-Cervantes was booked on suspicion of burglary, possession of stolen property, conspiracy, and possession of unlawful paraphernalia.

Chandler was booked on suspicion of burglary, possession of stolen property, possession of burglary tools, conspiracy, and possession of unlawful paraphernalia.
