Man with Murder Warrant Out of Oregon Reportedly Arrested in Mendocino County

Authorities in Mendocino County recently arrested an individual with an active arrest warrant for murder out of Oregon.

According to a press release by the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office, a patrol deputy in Yorkville contacted the occupant of a vehicle parked along Highway 128 in Yorkville in the early morning hours of Thursday, April 24.

The occupant, identified as John Kelley, 49, of Eugene, Oregon, was found to have an active warrant for homicide issued out of Lane County, Oregon.

Kelley was arrested without incident. No injuries were reported during the arrest, the Sheriff’s Office said.

The Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office is coordinating with the Lane County Sheriff’s Office in Oregon for further investigation.

Kelley’s vehicle was seized as evidence. Kelley was booked into the Mendocino County without bail, awaiting extradition back to Oregon.
