The Sutter County Sheriff’s Office recently concluded an enforcement operation targeting distracted driving, resulting in numerous citations and arrests.
Among the violations uncovered were cellphone use while driving, driving without insurance, speeding, and other infractions, according to a press release by the agency.
A total of 17 citations were issued for cellphone use, with additional citations for driving without insurance, red light violations, speeding, and vehicle equipment violations.
One arrest was made for alleged DUI and child abuse, according to reports.
Funding for these enforcement efforts was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety.
