Anaheim Police Investigate Murder-Suicide at Apartment Complex on State College Boulevard
The Anaheim Police Department is investigating what appears to be a murder-suicide that took place in late April.
According to a department press release, officers and local Fire & Rescue responded to an apartment complex on State College Boulevard to investigate a reported shooting.
At the scene, officers reportedly found 59-year-old Ana Monterrosa suffering from at least one gunshot wound. She was later pronounced deceased at an area hospital.
Investigators identified the primary suspect in the shooting as Brian Lawrence, 67, who lived at the same apartment complex. At around 9:30 PM, police entered Lawrence’s apartment and found him dead from an apparent suicide.
Investigators believe that Lawrence shot Monterrosa, then returned to his own apartment and took his own life.
The investigation is ongoing and there are no outstanding suspects, police said.
