Monterey County Sheriff’s Office Arrests Subject for Possession of Loaded Firearm and Narcotics Packaged for Sales

“On May 3rd, 2024, at about 7:00 AM, The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office Investigations Bureau Property Crimes Unit conducted a traffic stop along the 10000 block of McDougall Street in Castroville, California. During the stop, detectives contacted 34-year-old Salvador Rocha of Castroville. He was found to be in possession of a loaded firearm and narcotics that were packaged for the purposes of sales and distribution. He was also found to have a large amount of currency in his vehicle.
A search warrant was then executed at Rocha’s residence along the 10000 block of McDougall Street. An additional firearm and narcotics were also located inside his residence.
Sheriff Tina Nieto stated, “This is an ongoing example of the hard work our deputies and detectives are doing daily to keep Monterey County residents safe.”
Salvador Rocha was booked into the Monterey County Jail for violation of PC 25850(c)(1), Convicted Felon Carrying A Loaded Firearm; 29800(a)(1), Convicted Felon in Possession of Firearm; 30305(a), Possession of Ammunition by Prohibited Person; and 11370.1(a) HS, Possession of Controlled Substances While Armed With Loaded Firearm.”
