Attempted Murder Suspect Arrested Following Intensive Search – Red Bluff
“PRESS INFORMATION:
ATTEMPTED MURDER WARRANT ARREST
On 5/4/24, Tehama County Sheriff’s Deputies began following leads regarding the whereabouts of Thurman Franks (pictured).
Mr. Franks had an active warrant for his arrest for an attempted murder-shooting that occurred on 4/14/24 in the City of Red Bluff.
Deputies developed credible information that Mr, Franks was hiding in a residence on Crosby lane in Red Bluff.
Upon arrival to the home, the tenant admitted that Mr. Franks was inside and allowed us to enter to search.
Due to the fact that Mr. Franks was presumed to be armed, we requested additional support from our friends at the Red Bluff Police Department, CAL FIRE Tehama-Glenn Unit/ Tehama County Fire Department Police, and CHP – Red Bluff.
Mr. Franks remained hiding in a rear bedroom that was locked with a dead bolt. During nearly an hour of attempted negotiations, Mr. Franks never engaged in dialogue with Officers and ignored all orders to surrender.
The bedroom door was breached and Mr. Franks was arrested after a short struggle with Officers.
No one was injured during this incident.
Mr. Franks is currently in custody and the Red Bluff Police Department Investigations Division will be continuing this investigation.
Any additional questions should be referred to the Red Bluff Police Department.
We’d like to thank our allied law enforcement Agencies for the help, and specifically the Red Bluff Police Department Officers who also canvassed neighborhoods with our Deputies today searching for Mr. Franks.”
