“On the afternoon of 5/10/2024, a male subject entered the El Dorado Savings Bank in El Dorado Hills wearing a mask. Using a threat of violence, he demanded money from the bank teller.
For the Integrity of the ongoing investigation the details of the event are not being released at this time. However we will confirm that no one was hurt and the suspect acted alone.
The suspect fled the scene and was not apprehended immediately. EDSO Detectives became involved, and thanks to the cooperation and surveillance camera footage of nearby businesses, investigative work by EDSO Patrol Deputies, and assistance from other Law Enforcement Agencies, were able to identify the suspect as 37-year old Lucas John Dequine of Placerville.
The investigation progressed for several days and a warrant was obtained for his arrest. Mr. Dequine was arrested on the morning of 5/16/2024 and booked in the Placerville jail.
