Arrests Made in May 12th Grass Valley Attempted Homicide Incident

“Grass Valley, CA – Grass Valley residents, Gage Edwin Tolleson, 20, and Devin Travis Wilde, 21, were both arrested for attempted homicide, robbery, and conspiracy to commit crime on Saturday, May 18, 2024. These charges follow an incident that occurred on May 12, 2024.
On May 12, 2024, Nevada County Sheriff’s Office (NCSO) deputies responded to an area hospital after learning a 19-year-old man from Grass Valley had been transported there with life-threatening injuries, including a skull fracture. He was subsequently transferred to a trauma center for a higher level of care and emergency surgery. He survived.
Through the course of the investigation, NCSO Major Crimes Unit detectives determined the 19-year-old victim had been assaulted by Tolleson and Wilde at Tolleson’s residence, located in the 11,000 block of Brunswick Dr. in Grass Valley, using blunt-force objects as weapons. The attack appeared premeditated. During the attack, the victim was also robbed of his cash and cell phone.
Tolleson was located and arrested at a private residence in Alta Sierra on May 18. Detectives worked with neighboring law enforcement agencies to locate and arrest Wilde in Citrus Heights, CA on May 18. Both were booked into Wayne Brown Correctional Facility with a $500,000 bond and remain incarcerated today.
This case remains active and ongoing.”
