Woman with 8 Prior Convictions Is Arrested Again for Vehicle Theft

SAN LEANDRO – A woman with eight prior convictions has been arrested again. Sandra R. Warner, 53, of Dublin, allegedly stole a pickup truck from a grocery store parking lot. Warner was released from jail on her own recognizance. 

The suspect chatted up the victim in a checkout line. While distracting the victim the perpetrator stole the victim’s keys. Outside in the parking lot the victim mistakenly believed she locked her keys inside her vehicle. When she returned later with an extra set of keys her pickup truck was missing. 

After she reported what happened, Alameda County Sheriff’s Office detectives reviewed surveillance video. Warner was identified as the suspect. Warner was found driving the stolen pickup truck and arrested in San Leandro on May 9. Warner faces multiple charges including receiving a stolen motor vehicle and unlawful driving or taking a vehicle. 

The stolen pickup truck was recovered by the Alameda County Regional Auto Theft Task Force and returned to its rightful owner. 

Warner has eight prior convictions on her record for – 

  • May 2022: Unlawful driving or taking a vehicle 
  • April 2018: Fraudulent possession of personal information (10 victims) 
  • September 2013: Reckless driving/alcohol related 
  • April 2012: Possession of a controlled substance 
  • March 2010: Fraudulent possession of personal information (10 victims) 
  • May 2005: Receiving stolen property 
  • November 1999: Possession of a controlled substance for sale 
  • November 1993: Possession of a controlled substance for sale
