Man Arrested for Alleged Transportation of Controlled Substances in Siskiyou County

“On Wednesday afternoon, a Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Deputy uncovered 6 large duffel bags and 6 large trash bags of illicit marijuana and psilocybin (psychedelic mushrooms) during a probable cause search of a Sprinter van exiting the Shasta Vista area.
The driver, Jaime Corona Barragan, aged 27, of Santa Rosa, California, was arrested following this discovery for possession and transportation of marijuana and controlled substances and booked into the Siskiyou County Jail. A subsequent tally of the contraband found that Corona Barragan had been transporting over 330 pounds of illegally-grown marijuana and 30 pounds of psilocybin, which have a street value of $680,000 and $115,200 respectively.
