OAKLAND —East Bay Regional Park District police arrested three juveniles for a shooting at Skyline High School and a carjacking. The juveniles were caught while fleeing inside county parkland. Oakland police arrested an unidentified adult also associated with the shooting and carjacking.

Three victims were shot during the graduation ceremony at the high school on May 23. Each of the victims required medical treatment for their injuries. Fortunately, all three shooting victims are expected to fully recover.

Oakland police and East Bay park police monitoring OPD radio communications responded to the high school tragedy. Witnesses told park police that the suspects fled in the direction of Anthony Chabot Regional Park.

Park police headed to the parkland in the nearby San Leandro Hills. Park police organized a search with help from California Highway Patrol, and police from Lafayette, Moraga and Oakland. When the juveniles saw the park police they continued fleeing toward the Upper San Leandro Watershed.

The first juvenile apprehended was carrying a loaded pistol and the keys to a stolen car. The two other juvenile suspects were found and arrested about 90 minutes later.

The investigation of the triple shooting at the high school is ongoing. A $15,000 reward is offered for information leading to additional arrests. Anyone with information, photos or videos, can call the Oakland Police Department investigations division at 510-238-3426.
