Three Suspects Arrested for Murder, 5 Firearms Recovered

UNION CITY — Three murder suspects have been arrested for fatally shooting a man outside his apartment on 7th Street in Union City. The victim, 38-year-old Michael McNack, was pronounced dead at a hospital. 

Union City officers responded to the shooting August 30 shortly after 10:30 p.m. Union City detectives conducted months of investigation before identifying the suspects. Multiple law enforcement agencies assisted in this investigation. 

Investigators and SWAT teams served arrest and search warrants in Hayward, San Jose and Fairfield to apprehend the suspects. In addition to recovering five firearms, police arrested the following suspects on the morning of May 30 – 

Rosales and Ard were both booked at Alameda County Santa Rita Jail. Rosales has prior convictions for grand theft, robbery, among other offenses. Rosales consequently remains in custody ineligible for release on bond. Harding was booked at the Solano County Jail. 

Charges were filed June 3rd against Rosales for murder, possession of a firearm by a felon, and other offenses. Ard and Harding each face charges including murder and conspiracy to commit a crime. 

Union City detectives investigating the shooting received assistance from East Palo Alto, Fairfield, Hayward and Menlo Park police.
