On May 30, 2024, Ventura County Sheriff’s detectives arrested 21-year-old Los Angeles resident Troijay Sanders in connection with a commercial burglary in Thousand Oaks. According to Ventura County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Sr. Deputy Robert Curiel, the burglary which occurred on May 20, 2024, “involved several suspects who forced entry into a business” and stole cash and various items of merchandise.
Detectives from the East County Sheriff’s Station promptly initiated an investigation, which ultimately involved detectives attached to Thousand Oaks Detective Bureau / Career Criminals Unit, Thousand Oaks Special Enforcement Unit, Thousand Oaks Directed Enforcement Unit, West County Special Enforcement Unit, and VCAT Narcotics Unit. Video surveillance data from the scene identified Sanders as one of the suspects and tracked him to Santa Ana, where he was apprehended on May 30th. The immediately ensuing search of Sanders’ residence in Los Angeles uncovered further evidence linking him to the burglary.
Sanders was transported to the Ventura County East Valley Jail Facility, where he was booked on felony charges of commercial burglary with his bail set at $60,000. The investigation remains ongoing, and “additional arrests are anticipated” as detectives continue to gather evidence.
