Redding Police Reportedly Find Driver Passed Out in Running Vehicle

“On June 11, 2024, at approximately 1541 hours, Redding Police Officers were dispatched to a report of a vehicle whose driver was unconscious and stopped at the posted stop sign for the intersection of Creekside St. @ Sacramento Dr.  Officers arrived on scene and located Katie Brooks, 35 years, of Redding still unconscious inside the running vehicle.  There were also three young female juveniles in the vehicle as well.

Katie Brooks was assisted from the vehicle and found to be extremely intoxicated.  A Driving Under the Influence investigation was completed and Katie Brooks was arrested for Driving Under the Influence of an Alcoholic Beverage.  Katie Brooks performed a chemical test and her blood alcohol level was over four times the legal limit.  The three children in her vehicle were found to be her daughters.  Katie Brooks was transported to the Shasta County Jail where she was booked for three counts of felony child endangerment as well as driving under the influence of alcohol.”
