Six Individuals, Including Five Juveniles, Arrested in Coarsegold
“In March of this year, the Sheriff’s Office became aware of an increased pattern of criminal activity affecting the Indian Lakes neighborhood in Coarsegold. These crimes ranged from general theft, theft from motor vehicles and vandalism. There was also one instance of motor vehicle theft. The Madera Sheriff’s Special Enforcement Team (SET) was tasked with investigating these incidents. In the early stages of the investigation, it became clear that a specific group of people, mainly juveniles, were responsible for these incidents.
As the investigation progressed, SET Deputies conducted multiple interviews, and served eight search warrants. Ultimately, they identified six individuals responsible for various crimes in the Indian Lake neighborhood. During the service of one search warrant, deputies discovered evidence linking several members of the group to a violent assault that also occurred in Madera County.
The six individuals arrested as part of this investigation face charges including theft of access card, possession of stolen property, assault with force likely to cause great bodily injury, grand theft, and auto theft. The final arrest of this investigation occurred on Wednesday, June 5, 2024.
Of the six individuals arrested in this case, five are juveniles. The only adult arrested was Travis Carroll, 18 of Coarsegold. The case has been turned over to the District Attorney for prosecution.”
