Mendocino County Deputies Search for Armed Robbery Suspect

The Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office is calling on the public for help in identifying an armed robbery suspect who is still at large.

In a press release, the Sheriff’s Office described an alleged armed robbery at the Hopland Food and Gas this past Friday, June 14. The station is located on the 13600 block of Mountain House Road in Hopland.

Just before 11 PM, dispatch had received an alert from the establishment’s panic alarm. While en route, deputies learned that an armed robbery had taken place.

Officers from the California Highway Patrol also responded to the scene to assist with the investigation. Authorities learned that an unknown individual, described as an adult male dressed in all black with his face covered, had brandished a semi-automatic pistol at an employee and demanded money.

The suspect fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of currency. The employee was not injured, authorities said.

Despite an extended search of the area, deputies were unable to locate the suspect. The suspect remains at large and is considered armed and dangerous.
