SFPD Arrests Mission District Narcotics Dealers, Seizes Large Drug Cache and Cash

On May 30, 2024, San Francisco Police officers executed a search warrant at 17th and Shotwell Streets in the Mission District, resulting from an ongoing narcotics investigation prompted by community information. The operation involved plainclothes officers from Mission and Taraval Stations.

Inside the targeted vehicle, officers apprehended 46-year-old Robert Pritchard and 46-year-old Ronald Butera. The subsequent search yielded a significant quantity of suspected narcotics, including approximately 3 kilograms of cocaine HCL, ketamine, mushrooms, acid, suspected MDMA, methamphetamine, and various prescription narcotics. Additionally, officers seized over $600,000 in U.S. currency from the vehicle.

Robert Pritchard faces charges including three counts of transportation of methamphetamine for sale, possession for sale of a controlled substance, possession of methamphetamine exceeding 1 kilogram by weight, and related offenses. Ronald Butera was booked on charges of sale or transportation of a controlled substance, possession for sale of a controlled substance, and an outstanding warrant.

Captain Thomas Harvey of Mission Station expressed gratitude for community collaboration, emphasizing that the operation removed suspected drug dealers and a substantial quantity of narcotics from potential distribution on San Francisco streets. The San Francisco Police Department reiterated its commitment to combatting the city’s drug issues by apprehending wanted individuals and holding those involved in illegal narcotics accountable.
