Robbery Suspects Allegedly Posed as Law Enforcement Officials, Anaheim Police Say

Detectives in Anaheim recently arrested two individuals suspected of robbery while posing as law enforcement officials.

In a press release, the Anaheim Police Department announced that the suspects had been arrested in connection with two robberies on Thursday, June 20.

The suspects allegedly approached the victims and identified themselves as Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents, demanded cash, and fled in a blue SUV, police said.

Around five hours after the two robberies, police reportedly located the suspect vehicle, described as a blue Audi Q7 SUV, in Fullerton.

Police also located and arrested two men, identified as Laurentiu Baceanu, 19, and Vasile Alexandru, 19, in connection with the robberies.

Both were reportedly booked on suspicion of robbery, among other charges, and remain in custody without bail.

Investigators believe that the two may be responsible for other similar robberies in the county and western United States, and that they had used different vehicles, including the Audi Q7 as well as a silver Volkswagen Atlas SUV, to commit the alleged crimes, police said.
