“On June 21, 2024, a Colton Police Officer attempted a traffic enforcement stop on a motorcyclist for a vehicle code violation. The motorcyclist failed to stop and fled westbound on the I-10 freeway.
The Officer pursued the motorcyclist into the City of Rialto, wherein the motorcyclist collided into a vehicle at the intersection of Riverside Avenue and the westbound I-10 freeway on-ramp.
The motorcyclist sustained critical injuries as a result of the collision. The individuals inside the other vehicle were not injured. The Rialto Fire Department transported the motorcyclist to Arrowhead Regional Medicql Center. Per protocol, The California Highway Patrol Inland Division responded and assisted with the traffic collision investigation.
On June 22, 2024, the suspect Reyes succumbed to his injuries. The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Coroner’s Division will complete the autopsy investigation.
