A major collision resulted in the arrest of an individual for driving under the influence in Sebastopol.

Police reportedly responded to the area of Bodega and Florence Avenues on the evening of June 20 to investigate a report of a vehicle collision.

At the scene, officers discovered the aftermath of a single-vehicle collision. The vehicle had sustained major front-end damage from impacts against multiple objects including two utility poles, police said.

Witnesses and other evidence gathered at the site reportedly indicated that the driver had been traveling at over 90 miles per hour.

The driver reportedly also displayed signs of being under the influence of alcohol, police said.

The driver was treated for minor injuries at an area hospital before being arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, driving on a suspended license, and violation of probation.
