Los Altos Police Reportedly Make Arrest in Connection with Year-Long Identity Theft Investigation

Police in Los Altos have reportedly arrested an individual in connection with an ongoing fraud and identity theft investigation.

According to a press release, authorities served a search warrant on Monday, July 1, in the city of San Ramon. The warrant was part of a nearly year-long identity theft and fraud investigation, police said.

During the investigation, police reportedly identified 38 victims with financial losses of over $400,000.

The search warrant reportedly also led to the discovery and confiscation of a stolen vehicle, police said.

Police identified the arrested individual as Ethan Cha, 25, of San Ramon.

Cha was taken into custody booked at the Santa Clara County jail in connection with the case.
