Wanted Homicide Suspect Reportedly Arrested After Vehicle Pursuit

Police in Vallejo have announced the arrest of a primary suspect in connection with a fatal shooting in September of last year.

The investigation began on September 30, 2023, when officers responded to a report of a shooting on the 300 block of Fairgrounds Drive just after 11:30 p.m., Vallejo police said in a press release.

Police were also contacted by an area hospital regarding a gunshot victim who had arrived with life-threatening injuries.

The victim, described as an adult male, was ultimately pronounced deceased at the hospital, police said.

Detectives reportedly identified Corey Warren, 45, as the primary suspect in the homicide.

On October 5, 2023, detectives presented the evidence to the Solano County District Attorney’s Office. The District Attorney’s Office filed formal murder charges against Warren and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

On July 6 of this year, the Solano County Sheriff’s Office reportedly attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation near Curtola Parkway and Cherry Street.

The driver allegedly failed to yield, resulting in a pursuit.

The pursuit came to an end when the driver reportedly lost control of his vehicle during the chase, colliding with a residential gate.

Authorities reportedly arrested the driver without incident near Cherry Street and Grant Street. Authorities identified the driver as Warren.

The Solano County Sheriff’s Office then transferred Warren into the custody of Vallejo Police Department, and he was later booked at the Solano County jail on suspicion of murder and other charges, authorities said.
