Governor Offers $50K Reward for Information Leading to Arrest and Conviction of San Pablo Man’s Killer

The Butte County Sheriff’s Office is seeking new leads in connection with the murder of a San Pablo man at a Butte County campground in July of 2021.
In a press release, the Butte County Sheriff’s Office also reiterated that a $50,000 reward has been offered by Governor Gavin Newsom’s office for information leading to an arrest and conviction for the murder of Tyler Dickson, 20.
Deputies responded to the Bidwell Canyon Campground on July 3, 2021 to assist California State Parks Peace Officers with a homicide investigation.
At the scene, detectives learned that an individual, later identified as Dickson, had been shot and killed while sleeping in a tent during a group camping trip, the Sheriff’s Office said.
Despite an active investigation over the past three years, the case remains unsolved.
In 2022, Governor Gavin Newsom’s office offered a $50,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
The reward offer still stands, the Sheriff’s Office said.
