Suspect Arrested in Connection with Fatal Stabbing in Marysville

Authorities in Yuba County have identified the primary suspect in connection with a fatal stabbing on North Beal Road in Marysville.

Just after 12 a.m. on Saturday, July 6, deputies responded to a report of a physical disturbance at 1129 North Beale Rd., the Sheriff’s Office said in a press release.

At the scene, deputies reportedly discovered an individual who had suffered stab wounds. Deputies transported the victim to Adventist Rideout Hospital, where the victim was ultimately pronounced deceased.

After reviewing security footage from the area, detectives reportedly identified the suspect as 27-year-old Michael Collier of Linda.

Collier was questioned at the Sheriff’s Department and arrested on suspicion of homicide. He was booked into the Yuba County jail.

The victim’s identity is being kept confidential pending notification of next of kin, police said.
