Shasta County Man Arrested for Alleged Construction Yard Burglary

Shasta County authorities recently arrested an individual for allegedly burglarizing the same construction yard twice in one night.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a report of a suspected theft at a construction yard on Locust Road in Anderson at around 2:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 11.

A security company had informed deputies of a male suspect in a white truck allegedly attempting to steal items from the site. Deputies searched the area but did not find the suspect or vehicle.

Just after 4:30 a.m., the security company reported that the same suspect had returned to the construction yard. Deputies reportedly located the suspect, identified as 44-year-old Justin Roy Jones of Anderson, on Main Street in Cottonwood.

Deputies conducted a traffic stop and reportedly found copper wire in the truck, which was later confirmed to have been stolen from the construction site.

Jones was later booked on suspicion of grand theft and receiving stolen property, the Sheriff’s Office said.
