Suspect Arrested in Early Morning Homicide on I Parkway in South Sacramento

At approximately 4:30 AM on June 17, 2024, Sacramento Sheriff’s Central Division Patrol Deputies were dispatched to the intersection of I Parkway and Forest Parkway in South Sacramento, following reports of a deceased male. Upon arrival, deputies, alongside fire personnel, confirmed the individual was deceased due to a gunshot wound. The victim was subsequently identified as 31-year-old Sherman Gage.

In the wake of the incident, Sheriff’s Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators arrived at the scene to collect evidence and interview witnesses. Their efforts led to the identification of 23-year-old Denisho Collins as a suspect. Upon his arrest, Collins was found in possession of a loaded firearm.

Collins has been booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail on a charge of murder under California Penal Code 187(A). He is currently held on $50,000 bail and is scheduled for a court appearance on July 18, 2024.
