Former Middle School Teacher Convicted of Murder, Kidnapping, Sexual Assault

A former middle school teacher from Inglewood has reportedly been convicted of murder, kidnapping, and sexual assault across two separate cases.

In a press release, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced that Charles Wright, 58, had been convicted of first-degree murder in the death of 21-year-old Pertina Epps in 2005, and of kidnapping and sexually assaulting an 18-year-old woman in 2006.

Wright was convicted on July 10.

According to the District Attorney’s Office, Pertina Epps was killed on or around April 26, 2005, and Wright was kidnapped and sexually assaulted around September 17, 2006.

For his crimes, Wright faces 50 years to life in prison. His sentencing date has been set for September 10, the District Attorney’s Office said.
