An individual was arrested earlier this month in connection with an alleged attempted homicide in Manteca.
According to a press release, the Milpitas Police Department received an alert from their Automated License Plate Readers on the night of July 7. The alert was in regards to a pickup truck connected to an attempted homicide earlier that day in Manteca, police said.
Dispatchers notified patrol officers, and officers located the truck less than a minute later near S. Park Victoria Drive and Landess Avenue.
Officers attempted to stop the driver but the driver fled, initiating a vehicle pursuit, police said.
The driver eventually stopped fleeing and officers took him into custody. Evidence linking the driver to the crime was found in his vehicle, police said.
Police identified the driver as Roberto Rodriguez of San Jose.
Rodriguez was ultimately booked at San Joaquin County jail on suspicion of attempted murder.
Rodriguez may face additional charges in Santa Clara County for fleeing and resisting arrest, police said.
