Kern County authorities recently arrested an individual in connection with alleged drug sales out of a house in Bakersfield.
The arrest was the result of an ongoing narcotics investigation by the Kern County High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Task Force, the Sheriff’s Office said in a press release.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, on July 16, authorities concluded their investigation by carrying out a search warrant at a home on the 1100 block of Eureka St. in Bakersfield.
During the search, authorities confiscated around three-quarters of a pound of methamphetamine, a stolen AR-15, three handguns, and a stolen ATV, the Sheriff’s Office said.
Two of the handguns were reportedly discovered in a hidden compartment in the headrest of the passenger seat.
The individual arrested, identified as 30-year-old Oscar Bustos, was booked at the Kern County Sheriff’s Office Lerdo Justice Facility on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance for sales, possession of a firearm or ammunition by a felon, resisting arrest, child endangerment, and other charges.
The Kern County Sheriff’s Office, Rural Crimes Investigative Unit, and Kern County Probation Department all assisted with the investigation, the Sheriff’s Office said.
