Suspect Arrested for Allegedly Stealing Puppy at Gunpoint in San Jose

San Jose police reportedly arrested an individual for the alleged theft of a puppy, which also led to the confiscation of two AR-style rifles.
According to a press release by the San Jose Police Department, officers responded to a report of an armed robbery on the night of July 17. A husband and wife had allegedly been robbed at gunpoint of their four-month-old Shih Tzu puppy.
The puppy was a gift from the husband to his wife following a traumatic event, police said.
Officers reportedly identified and located the suspect vehicle nearby, conducted a felony vehicle stop. The victims positively identified the individual as the person who had stolen their puppy.
A firearm and two loaded magazines were also found during the stop, police said.
The stolen puppy and two AR-style rifles were discovered at the suspect’s residence.
The puppy was safely reunited with its owners.
