Colusa, Yolo County Authorities Arrest Primary Suspect in 2020 Homicide

Authorities in California’s Colusa and Yolo counties have announced the arrest of a murder suspect who had fled to Mexico in early 2020.

After four years of investigation, the Woodland Police Department announced in a press release the arrest of Dennis Jaramillo, 20, in connection with the January 9, 2020, murder of Isaac Morales.

The investigation and arrest was made possible through a coordinated effort by Woodland PD, the Colusa County Sheriff’s Office, the Colusa County Task Force, the Colusa County Highway Patrol, and the Sacramento FBI Safe Streets Task Force, police said.

The suspect reportedly fled to Mexico during the initial investigation, but investigators later discovered the suspect had re-entered the United States.

The Yolo County Sheriff’s Department, Yolo County Probation, and the Sacramento FBI office assisted in confirming Jaramillo’s whereabouts in Colusa County, police said.

On July 16th, at approximately 6 a.m., law enforcement officials took Jaramillo into custody.

Jaramillo was booked at the Yolo County jail on suspicion of murder and participating in a criminal street gang.
