“At approximately 3:45 AM on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, Sacramento County Sheriff’s North Patrol Deputies responded to a gun store on Greenback Lane in Orangevale regarding a burglary in progress. The business owner was remotely monitoring a live video from inside the business when he reported an unknown individual running around inside and the front window having been broken out.

As Deputies arrived on scene along with Officers from the Folsom Police Department and Citrus Heights Police Department, they observed a vehicle parked in front of the business. The vehicle was empty and the responding Deputies and Officers cleared the inside of the building, as the suspect(s) appeared to have fled prior to their arrival.

Sheriff’s Property Crimes Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators responded to the scene, began their investigation, interviewed witnesses, and began to gather evidence. Deputies and Detectives learned the vehicle in the parking lot, a gray Kia SUV, was stolen earlier that night from Fair Oaks, but had not yet been reported. The suspect(s) appeared to have used that vehicle to back into the storefront window, then gained entry into the business. The suspect(s) then stole at least 25 firearms and fled in a different getaway vehicle.

Detectives are asking anyone with information regarding this incident to contact the Sheriff’s Office at (916) 874-5115 or Sacramento Valley Crime Stoppers at (916) 443-HELP (4357).
