Newport Beach police have arrested a primary suspect in connection with a murder investigation.
In a press release, the Newport Beach Police Department announced that offers had responded to the 1200 block of Park Newport on the night of Friday, July 26, to conduct a welfare check.
At the scene, officers reportedly found an adult male who was deceased and whose body showed signs of trauma.
Detectives responded to the scene and soon identified the primary suspect as Brandon Christian Chanman, 35. Chanman is reportedly an acquaintance of the victim.
Chanman was arrested on July 29 and booked on suspicion of murder, police said.
