A Solano County man has reportedly been convicted for the murder of Erica Brown of Fairfield.

Mark Randle

According to the District Attorney’s Office, 45-year-old Mark Randle was convicted of first-degree murder on July 25 in connection with the 2023 disappearance and presumed death of Erica Brown, 36.

Brown was last seen at her home in Fairfield on August 20, 2023, and was reported missing on August 25.

Detectives suspected foul play in Brown’s disappearance. Not long after, they identified Randle, her boyfriend at the time, as a suspect.

Randle reportedly evaded authorities for several weeks before Fairfield Police detectives, with assistance from the Sacramento Police Department’s Career Criminal Apprehension Team and the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office S.W.A.T unit, located and arrested him in the Sacramento area on September 15, 2023.

Randle’s trial began on July 10, 2024.

The Solano County District Attorney’s Office presented substantial evidence — witness and officer testimonies, cellular phone data, video surveillance footage, DNA evidence, and FLOCK license plate reader data.

On July 25, the jury found Randle guilty of murder in the first degree.

Although there has been a conviction, Brown’s remains have yet to be located, according to the District Attorney’s Office.
