“Update:  During the investigation, investigators from the Riverside Sheriff’s Central Homicide Unit identified the suspect in this homicide. Michel Fernando Garcia-Zazueta, a 26-year-old former resident of Moreno Valley who is currently in custody on an unrelated case at the Robert Presley Detention Center, was charged with murder, firearm enhancement, and a felon in possession of a firearm.

Andrew George Perez, a 24-year-old resident of Colton, was also arrested and booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center for accessory.

The investigation is still ongoing, and no additional information will be released at this time. The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department encourages anyone with information regarding the incident to contact Central Homicide Investigator Munoz at (951) 235-9833 or (760) 770-2452.

Details:  On Saturday, October 31, 2020, at 1:35 AM, deputies from the Moreno Valley Station responded to a shots fired call in the area of the 21000 Block of Dracaea Ave in Moreno Valley. Upon arrival the deputies located a male deceased.

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Central Homicide Unit responded and assumed the investigation. The decedent was identified as Daniel Michael Murua, 21 years old out of Moreno Valley.
