San Joaquin County Authorities Reportedly Seize Illegal Weapons from Man’s Home

A San Joaquin County man was recently arrested for allegedly discharging a firearm in a reckless manner, which led to the discovery of illegal weapons in his home, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

On the night of Thursday, August 1, deputies responded to a report of gunfire. At the scene, deputies reportedly made contact with Victor Lopez, whom they say admitted to shooting out his window from inside his home.

Detectives responded to the residence with a search warrant.

Deputies carried out the warrant and reportedly discovered a loaded AR-style rifle without a serial number, an allegedly stolen handgun, over 800 rounds of ammo, two ballistic vests, a ballistic helmet, over half a pound of suspected cocaine, and narcotics paraphernalia.

Lopez was arrested and booked on suspicion of willfully discharging a firearm in a grossly negligent manner, possession of a controlled substance, being a felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a narcotic for sale, being a felon in possession of body armor, possession of a controlled substance while armed with a loaded firearm, illegally possessing an assault weapon, possession of a firearm without an identification mark, possession of stolen property, and being a prohibited person in possession of ammunition.
