Suspect Arrested in Theft of Equipment from Park Fire Personnel
“🚨GRAND THEFT FROM PARK FIRE STAFF. SUSPECT ARRESTED🚨
Yesterday, a grand theft occurred in the City of Red Bluff, in which equipment being used to battle the Park fire was stolen from a vehicle, while the fire personnel were asleep in their hotel. The victim is one of the thousands of fire personnel currently in our community helping to stop the blaze.
The victim notified Sheriff Kain and he assigned our personnel to the investigation. Our staff was highly motivated to remedy this for one of the Hero’s fighting to protect our County!
Over the last two days, your Deputies, along with Police Officers from CAL FIRE Tehama-Glenn Unit/ Tehama County Fire Department have been absolutely relentless in their pursuit of this case. We quickly identified a suspect, and through aggressive police work, we located all of the stolen property yesterday evening stashed in a trailer in the City of Red Bluff. Today, we captured the suspect.
Ramon Ruelas has been arrested and booked into the Tehama County Jail for grand theft. We have utilized the Sheriff’s chronic offender program to hold Ramon in our custody.
We recognize the commitment and sacrifice from all of the fire fighting personnel who have been sent to our County to help us, and we will not tolerate anyone disrespecting their service to our County.
Sheriff Kain was able to meet with the victim to return all of the property. We are incredibly proud of our staff for their commitment in this investigation. We can’t express how much is owed to the Heroes fighting to protect our County, but we hope the commitment of our staff in this case serves as a way of saying “thank you” to all of them.”
