Two Arrested for Probation Violations in Feather River Bottoms Operation

On August 1, 2024, the Sutter County Sheriff’s Office, in collaboration with the Yuba City Police Department and Sutter County Probation, conducted probation searches in the Feather River bottoms near Shanghai Bend and Berry Road in Yuba City. The operation resulted in the arrest of two individuals for probation violations and additional charges.

Jeremy Sanderlin, 44, was arrested for violating his probation. The charges against Sanderlin included possession of a controlled substance, being a felon in possession of a pepper ball gun, ammunition, and a taser. Deputies also discovered a replica Beretta BB-gun at Sanderlin’s campsite.

Bryan Monahan, 36, was also arrested for probation violations. Monahan faced charges for possession of a dirk or dagger and possession of a controlled substance.

The Sutter County Sheriff’s Office issued a public service advisory urging individuals visiting the river bottoms for recreational purposes to remain vigilant. The department emphasized its commitment to public safety through regular abatements and proactive enforcement efforts. Collaboration with Health and Human Services, Sutter County Probation, and the Yuba City Police Department is ongoing to ensure community safety along the rivers.
