“In April 2024, Porterville Police Detectives received a CyberTip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), informing them of a Porterville resident who had uploaded multiple media files containing child pornography.

Through the course of the investigation, Detectives obtained evidence identifying 36-year-old, Jose Luis Perez-Mendez, as the person who was uploading the pornographic images and/or videos of children under the age of 18. A search warrant was authored for two residences associated to the investigation, the 300 block of East Olivewood Circle and the 400 block of East Cleveland Avenue, as well as an arrest warrant for Perez-Mendez. The warrants were signed by a Tulare County Superior Court Judge.

On July 30, 2024, at approximately 7:00 A.M., Porterville Police Detectives responded to both residences to execute the search warrant. Perez-Mendez was contacted and arrested, and Detectives located and collected additional evidence.
Jose Luis Perez-Mendez was booked at the Tulare County South County Detention Facility, where he is being held in lieu of $25,000 bail.

Anyone with information regarding this investigation is encouraged to contact the Porterville Police Department at (559) 782-7400 or through our departmental Facebook or Instagram page. Those who have information may also provide it anonymously.”
