Imperial County Sheriff’s Office Arrests Suspect in Connection with Recent Vehicle Thefts

“Due to the recent stolen vehicles occurring in the Imperial County, the Imperial County Sheriff’s Office Investigations Division, Border Crime Suppression Team, and South County Patrol, conducted a coordinated investigation to combat the vehicle thefts.

During the course of the investigation, it was determined 22-year-old Angel ACEVEDO from Indio, California, was a main suspect in the vehicle thefts. On Friday, August 9, 2024, at approximately 0200 hours, Holtville Deputies contacted ACEVEDO in the area of the 500 Block of Pine Avenue. ACEVEDO was connected to a just stolen vehicle from the City of El Centro, which was recovered on site.

ACEVEDO was placed under arrest and was turned over to the El Centro Police Department for prosecution and the vehicle was turned over to the registered owner. The Imperial County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the community for their assistance in reporting suspicious activity and any issues warranting law enforcement response.”
