WALNUT CREEK — A suspect facing burglary charges appeared for a
preliminary court hearing on Aug. 13.

Joshua M. Spain-Cue, 34, of Antioch, was arrested
on July 30 in connection with two separate burglaries.
Spain-Cue was booked at the Martinez Detention Facility. Bond was set at $250,000 for his
subsequent release from custody. Spain-Cue allegedly committed two burglaries in Walnut
Creek. One was a residential burglary on the 1100 block of Flowerwood Place. The other was
a commercial burglary on 800 block of Bancroft Road.
An alert resident reported seeing a suspicious man entering a neighbor’s backyard on July
30.
Officers responded at approximately 11 a.m. to Flowerwood Place, where they found Spain-
Cue inside the victim’s home.
Walnut Creek PD detained and subsequently arrested Spain-Cue. Upon further investigation,
Spain-Cue was implicated in a prior commercial burglary on Bancroft Road.
Detectives presented evidence to the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office. Multiple
charges were filed against Spain-Cue on August 1. His charges include first-degree
residential burglary, and second-degree commercial burglary. At the time of his latest arrest
Spain-Cue was on probation for a prior felony conviction.
Earlier this year, Spain-Cue was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia. He was
convicted for assault in May 2021. In March 2017, he was convicted for possession of a
controlled substance.
The two new burglary cases remain under investigation. Anyone with information can contact
