HAYWARD — Months of investigation culminated in the arrest of a suspect for
burglaries and stealing vehicles from car dealerships. Nova J. Moore, a 23-year-
old resident of Hayward, is charged with committing multiple felonies.
Between August and November 2023, Moore allegedly committed at least 10
burglaries in Hayward. These burglaries included thefts of vehicles from two
dealerships in Hayward. Moore also allegedly committed burglaries in Union
City and San Ramon.
In a prepared statement on August 12 Hayward police said, “Officers, detectives,
and our forensic team worked together to collect evidence and meticulously
document each incident.”
The investigation implicated Moore, linking him to the burglaries and recovering
stolen vehicles. Moore has been in custody at the Alameda County Santa Rita
Jail since his arrest in July. Moore faces multiple charges for second-degree
commercial burglary, and carrying a concealed weapon.
At the time of his arrest, Moore was on probation for a conviction in 2023 for
possession of a firearm by a felon, and unlawful driving or taking of a vehicle.
He has been arrested 24 times since August 2019 for assaults, burglaries, illicit
drugs, vehicle thefts, among other offenses.
His other prior arrests this year involved an assault, burglaries, possession of
controlled substances, and vehicle thefts. He was also arrested for burglaries,
drugs and vehicle thefts in 2023.
