Murrieta Resident Arrested for Alleged 2016 Sexual Abuse of Minor Children

On Tuesday, July 16, 2024, the Murrieta Police Department initiated an investigation into an alleged case of sexual abuse involving minor children, which reportedly occurred in 2016 at a residence in Murrieta. The case was subsequently assigned to the Detective Bureau for further examination. Through their investigation, detectives determined that the suspect, identified as 50-year-old Wayne Kenneth Conklin, had allegedly committed acts of sexual abuse against two minor children in 2016.

On Wednesday, August 14, 2024, Conklin was arrested and booked into the Cois M. Byrd Detention Center. He faces multiple charges, including violating Penal Code 288(a) – Lewd Act Upon a Child, Penal Code 667.61(e)(4) – Continual Sexual Abuse of Multiple Victims, and Penal Code 136.1(b)(1) – Dissuading a Witness.
