A Shasta County man has reportedly been arrested for the alleged sexual abuse of two underage girls.
According to a press release, the Sheriff’s Office had received a report this past July alleging that a man from Anderson had abused two girls when they were between the ages of 10 and 16.
Major Crimes Unit detectives took up the investigation and uncovered evidence that the abuse had occurred at the man’s residence on Pheasant Drive. Detectives later confirmed that both victims were the suspect’s biological children, the Sheriff’s Office said.
The Sheriff’s Office identified the suspect as Joel Darrell Lockwood, 47.
On Monday, Aug. 19, detectives interviewed Lockwood and ultimately arrested him on twelve counts of lewd and lascivious acts with a child.
Lockwood’s bail was set at $250,000, the Sheriff’s Office said.
